Previous Solution

Some previous solutions involved schools teaching computer skills, which helped people become more comfortable with technology; however, this did not prepare them for AI. Additionally, many companies rushed to implement AI without providing proper training, which led to confusion and misunderstandings.

Solution

These are solutions workers, students, and companies should implement to future-proof their careers:

  1. Workers should begin by learning AI-related skills, and can do this by participating in AI training programs/AI bootcamps to learn the basics of AI and how it can be applied to real-world settings. In addition, workers should learn how to prompt Al to get the best answer.

   2. Students/ Schools should begin implementing AI task forces where students and teachers can work alongside administrators to integrate AI into that school's curriculum. In addition, college students should start AI literacy clubs to teach peers how to use AI in a productive way.

   3. Companies should fund AI training programs for all employees and provide company-approved AI tool subscriptions, such as Gemini, so employees can use AI as a partner in their work while allowing companies to monitor access and usage. With this, companies should create their AI policies and ethical guidelines.

What Can You Do?

So, what can you do? You can start preparing yourself by learning AI skills, joining AI clubs, and being open to discussions about AI. But, most importantly, learn how to use AI as a partner to support your thinking and not as a shortcut
